Primary control is the thermostat dial, typically located inside the freezer compartment.

Thermostat Dial: Rotate to set temperature. Settings usually range from MIN (warmest) to MAX (coldest). A medium setting is recommended for normal use.

Door Open Alarm: Sounds if door is left open for several minutes. Closes door to stop alarm.

Interior Light: Turns on automatically when door opens.

Adjustable Shelves/Baskets: Can be repositioned or removed for cleaning.

Using the Freezer

For optimal performance and food preservation.

  1. Pre-freeze hot food: Allow cooked food to cool to room temperature before freezing.
  2. Package food properly: Use airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn.
  3. Do not overfill: Allow space between items for air circulation.
  4. Label and date: Mark packages with contents and date of freezing.
  5. Fast freezing: For large quantities, use the fast freeze function (if available) or set thermostat to MAX a few hours before adding food.

Tip: Organize food with newer items at the back to use older items first (FIFO).

Defrosting

This model requires manual defrosting when ice buildup is approximately 5-7 mm thick.

  1. Turn off and unplug: Set thermostat to "0" or "OFF" and disconnect power.
  2. Remove food: Place frozen food in a cool box or another freezer.
  3. 3. Speed up defrosting: Place bowls of warm (not hot) water inside. Do not use sharp tools or heaters.
  4. Collect water: Place towels or a shallow pan at the bottom to collect melting ice.
  5. Clean interior: Once ice melts, clean interior as described in Care section.
  6. Dry and restart: Wipe interior dry, plug in, set thermostat, and reload food once temperature is reached.

WARNING! Never use sharp objects to remove ice. Never use electrical appliances to speed defrosting inside the cabinet.
