Specifications

Controls and Settings

Control panel typically located inside the freezer compartment.

Thermostat Knob: Rotate to set temperature (1 warmest, 5 coldest). Setting 3 is usually recommended for normal operation.

Fast Freeze Switch/Button: Activates continuous cooling to freeze fresh food quickly. Turn on 24 hours before adding fresh food and turn off 24 hours after.

Interior Light: Turns on automatically when door is opened.

Alarm Indicator (if equipped): May light or sound if temperature rises too high or door is left open.

Using the Freezer

For optimal performance and food preservation.

  1. Pre-freeze food: Let hot food cool to room temperature before freezing.
  2. Packaging: Use airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn.
  3. Organization: Place frequently used items at the front. Use baskets for smaller items.
  4. Do not overfill: Allow space between items for air circulation.
  5. Fast Freeze: Use when adding large quantities of unfrozen food.
  6. Label and date: Keep track of storage times.

Tip: A full freezer is more energy-efficient than an empty one, but do not block air vents.

Maintenance & Defrosting

Manual defrost is required when ice buildup exceeds 5 mm.

  1. Defrosting:
    • Turn thermostat knob to "0" or unplug the freezer.
    • Remove all food, store in a cool place wrapped in newspapers or a cooler.
    • Place towels and/or a shallow pan at the bottom to collect water.
    • Leave door open to allow ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp tools or heaters.
    • Clean interior (see Care & Cleaning).
    • Dry thoroughly, plug in, set thermostat, and reload food once temperature is reached.
  2. Regular checks: Ensure door seals are clean and intact. Vacuum the condenser coils (rear or underneath) every 6-12 months.

WARNING! Never use sharp metal tools to remove ice. Risk of damaging cooling system and electric shock.

Energy Saving Tips
