  2. Level the unit: Adjust the front leveling feet if necessary to ensure the door closes and seals properly.
  3. Reverse door (optional): Follow instructions in manual to change door swing direction if needed.
  4. Let it stand: After moving, let the freezer stand upright for at least 4 hours before plugging in.
  5. Plug into AC power: Use a dedicated 115V, 15A outlet. Do not use an extension cord.

WARNING! The freezer is heavy; use two people for moving and installation to avoid injury.

First-Time Setup

After installation, prepare the freezer for first use.

  1. Initial cleaning: Wipe the interior with a solution of warm water and baking soda. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  2. Power on: Plug in the unit. The power indicator LED should light up.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

The primary control is the thermostat dial located inside the freezer compartment.

Thermostat Dial (1-7): Turn clockwise to make the freezer colder (higher number). Turn counter-clockwise to make it warmer (lower number). Setting 1 is the warmest, Setting 7 is the coldest. The midpoint (4) is recommended for normal operation.

Power Indicator Light: A small LED near the thermostat illuminates when the unit is plugged in and receiving power.

Door Alarm: An audible alarm will sound if the door is left open for approximately 3 minutes. The alarm stops when the door is closed.

Interior Light: Turns on automatically when the door is opened.

Loading and Organizing

Proper loading ensures efficient cooling and easy access.

  1. Adjust Shelves: Shelves can be repositioned or removed to accommodate tall items.
  2. Door Shelves: Use for smaller, frequently accessed items like frozen vegetables, ice packs, or juice concentrates.
  3. Air Circulation: Do not block the air vents inside the freezer with food packages. Allow space between items for cold air to circulate.
  4. Pre-freeze Hot Food: Allow hot food to cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer to save energy and prevent temperature rise.
  5. Label and Date: Label all packages with contents and date to manage inventory.

Tip: Organize food by type (meats, vegetables, prepared meals) for easier finding.

Defrosting and Cleaning

This is a manual defrost freezer. Frost will build up over time and must be removed periodically.

  1. Prepare: Turn the thermostat dial to "0" (OFF) and unplug the freezer.
  2. Remove Food: Place all frozen food in a cooler with ice packs to keep it frozen.
  3. Speed Up Defrost: Place bowls of hot water inside the freezer and close the door to loosen frost. Never use sharp objects or heaters to remove ice.
  4. Remove Ice & Water: Once ice melts, sponge out water. A towel can be placed at the bottom to absorb moisture. Remove the drain plug (if equipped) to let water flow into a pan.
  5. Clean Interior: Wash interior with a solution of 2 tablespoons baking soda per quart of warm water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
  6. Restart: Plug in the freezer, set thermostat to desired setting, and allow it to cool down before reloading food.

WARNING! Never use sharp tools to chip away ice as this can damage the cooling coils.
